Hippocampe All-Terrain Beach Wheelchair

The Hippocampe Beach and All-Terrain Wheelchair was designed to provide access for wheelchair users to places they might otherwise never be able to enjoy, such as the beach and other areas with terrain that may be difficult to traverse using a standard wheelchair. Whether it's snow, sand, water, or rocky areas, the Hippocampe can travel them all.

This unique wheelchair is equipped with a removable push bar and traction kit that allow it to be pushed by a caregiver or friend, but it is also designed to provide independence to its user. The Hippocampe is easily self-propelled and it floats in water for safe and easy exit.

Great for the Beach

The Hippocampe is ideal for aquatic use with its quick-drying hydrophobic seat. The thick foam is both comfortable to sit on and resistant to water for convenient beach use. Balloon wheels are also available as an option for the Hippocampe to allow it traverse more easily over fine sand. The wheelchair's frame is made of stainless corrosion-resistant aluminum that won't rust, and a special coating prevents it from getting hot in the sun.

On your own or accompanied: Towed, pushed or self-propelled, the Hippocampe chair offers autonomy to its user, a third party can assist the more heavily handicapped with its push bar or traction kit.

Comfortable: The seat is composed of a thick and hydrophobic foam that does not absorb water and dries quickly. The blue and pink sheathed tubes are comfortable to the touch and do not heat up in the sun.

Product Composition:

Made in France, the Hippocampe all-terrain beach wheelchair is composed of stainless materials. 

• The tube frame is made of treated seawater aluminum and is covered by a comfortable colored cladding which avoids the sun and cold burns.
• The axles and half-axles of wheels are made of stainless steel. Dual wheels are without ball-bearing, avoiding the jamming by oxidization. The outer rim is covered by a grip that serves as a handrail for users.
• The seat is composed of closed-cell foam for water resistance, with a thickness of 3 cm that it enables to be comfortable and quick-drying. The seat fabric is fireproof treated as required by French law.
• The removable push bar can be easily taken off and installed thanks to its clip system and enables to companions to help users in their movements.
